Garowe — In what the government said to be a step forward to repair strained ties Somalia’s transitional federal government had with the semi-autonomous state of Puntland, the prime minister of Somalia reached at Punland for two day official visit. Ali warmly welcomed by Puntland administration in Garowe town.

A distinguished delegation including ministers and MPs led by Dr. Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, the prime minister of Somalia left for Garowe, the capital of Puntland semi-autonomous region to meet with the region leader Abdurrahman Sheikh Mohamoud Farole in an attempt to persuade him to come to Mogadishu and participate UN backed Somalia’s consultative meeting.
The consultative meeting is aimed to end up country’s transition after more than seven years.

Speaking to the reporters at Mogadishu’s Aden International Airport, Mr. Ali said his trip is also paving the way a tour by the president of Somalia there.
In Jan. this year, Somalia’s semi-autonomous state of Puntland, the administration announced it had suspended cooperation with the transitional federal government (TFG) of Somalia.
The reason Puntland said was that there had been many unfulfilled promises and direct roadblocks to its internal wishes and aspirations from the Somali government side.
Following the move, the president of Puntland has fired four ministers accused of having close ties with the transitional federal government of Somalia and named their replacements.
The semi-autonomous state also banned TFG officials from landing at its airports. It’s sourced from AHN.
